Description
Circa 1820, extremely rare George IV British rosewood breakfast table with Chinese panels. With figured rosewood top that has deep cross-banding and 12 sides above a chamfered edge and deep frieze with Chinese patterning. It has its original brass clap and a small arm for locking the table open. The block is in stained ash and it has three scrolling arms connecting it to an unusual base. It has a raised rosewood platform base with veneered edges, and scrolling feet with carved wings either side and ending on hairy paws. It has its original cast brass castors. A combination of Chinese and British craftsmanship, in exhibition quality condition.
