Circa 1920s. An interesting tall mahogany chest of drawers by Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh. The top in flamed mahogany with rounded corners and visible dove tails, an unusual but stylish feature. To the front there is a configuration of two short drawers over five further graduating drawers, each with matching flame mahogany veneers and cast brass swan neck handles with pierced flower head back plates, the drawers are lined with stained ash. Beneath the bottom drawer there is a shaped frieze to the front and the whole piece rests on four squat carved feet, typical of Sir Robert Lorimer.
