Circa 1900, rosewood veneered writing table. The top has green leather writing surface with tooling and gilding, surrounded by a crossbanded border, and an ogee moulded fore edge. Beneath this is a configuration of one long drawer and two short drawers either side. The drawer fronts are reeded and have the original cast brass handles which are almost Aesthetic in style. Beneath the central drawer are quarter brackets with blind fretwork, and turned finials below. The whole piece stands on four elegant turned, tapering legs on brown porcelain castors. Great colour and patination, stylish and sturdy.
