Description

Circa 1920, unusual neat size mahogany compactum wardrobe by Whytock and Reid of Edinburgh. The simple cornice with a concave section in the frieze is veneered in flame mahogany. The 2 side doors feature an interesting design and also have mahogany veneers. The side doors open to reveal uninterrupted hanging space and to the centre are two cupboards, crossbanded doors and a cast brass swan neck pull. Inside this central door is a combination of 5 full length drawers in cross-banded, flame mahogany with cast brass swan neck handles. There is double ogee moulding beneath the doors, with bracket feet and a shaped apron to centre. The wardrobe is excellent quality as expected in pieces by Whytock and Reid.
