Circa 1900, exhibition quality mahogany chest of drawers by Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh with Sir Robert Lorimer influences. The rectangular shaped chest has a well figured mahogany top and simple classic Whytock & Reid low ledge back. With 2 full length drawers with matching flame mahogany veneers on the front, and cast brass swan neck handles. With shaped, carved and open fretwork apron on 3 sides with foliate carving and c- and s-scrolls. With a carved acanthus leaf design which forms part of the shaped apron and finishing on a hairy paw foot.
