Product Description

Circa 1900. Stylish mahogany floor standing bookcase by Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh. Solid top with stylish four edge, the front is a configuration of two panel doors at the end and three glazed doors in the center. The shaped frieze in the top has typical Lorimer carving in four sections. The two solid doors are in flamed mahogany, with tops of the doors follow the form of the frieze. With three glazed doors to the center, each has three adjustable mahogany shelves, one stamped ‘Whytock & Reid’. Beneath the central is a shaped carved frieze and this continues around on all sides. The bookcase rests on six extraordinary large carved feet.
