Circa 1930, large open mahogany bookcase by Whytock and Reid of Edinburgh, with a design influenced by Sir Robert Lorimer. The reverse breakfront top has a moulded edge over a frieze that is decorated with an arts and craft foliate plaque. Beneath this are 6 sections each with 3 solid mahogany adjustable shelves and a neat moulded base, and supported on Lorimer style shaped ogee bracket feet. In the classic high standard of Whytock and Reid, including a fielded, panelled mahogany back.
