Description
Circa 1900. Stylish solid oak monk’s bench. The back with stylish pediment and two carved lion masks at each end, with three well carved panels, and shaped arms supported on turned uprights, the solid seat is hinged and opens to reveal and uninterrupted interior. To the front there are two large carved panels depicting the Green-man and acanthus carving on the facings, the whole piece rests on four bun feet.
