Circa 1890, late Victorian early Art Nouveau mahogany mantelpiece. There is caddy moulding on the top, base and flat fore edge. Beneath the top is a centre section with raised carving with a central splat which is ribbed and has a carved flower head. The two uprights are surmounted by a stylised flower head and beneath this are pilasters with carved roundels on top. At the base is a breakfront section with return moulding and an enclosed plinth. The frame of the fireplace has various flat and ogee mouldings. The mantelpiece retains its original colour and is good quality. Fire basket, back plate etc available separately.
