Circa 1880, unusual walnut, cast iron and brass combined reading table and occasional table. With a nautical style, elaborate base of anchors and ropes it rises up to a cast iron section in the form of a coronet. This leads on to a barley sugar column and then has a solid walnut table top attached to it. A barley sugar section extends from this on to an adjustable brass arm and to the back is a plaque with the name ‘Bloomfield and Company, Registered’ patent and maker. There is a mahogany section for holding sheet music or books, and 2 adjustable brass arms for holding them in position.
