Circa 1880, very stylish Victorian burr walnut fold over card table. The rectangular top with quarter veneered burr walnut framed by boxwood and amboyna crossbanding. The corners are chamfered and the fore edge has been ebonised. The top swivels and is hinged, opening to reveal its original baize lining with gilded leather border, and four ebonised cut outs. Below the top the apron has a double string inlay and very stylish double edged beading. The legs are turned at the top and taper down with ebonised fluting, finishing on brass and ebonised porcelain castors. These are united by a crossbanded and inlaid cross over stretcher with a stylish carved urn in the centre. Wonderful style and colour.
