Circa 1890, very unusual and rare Japanese bamboo inlaid and lacquered corner table. With its idiosyncratic top with a combination of chinoiserie, lacquer work and various inlays, framed in bamboo. Beneath the top all the joints are connected using a brass jointing system. The stylish geometric pattern on the front is in actual bamboo and the table stands on 3 bamboo legs. Towards the bottom is a single shelf which replicates similar style and structure to the top, again framed in bamboo. As the legs continue down they finish with a slight splay and have a brass toe.
