Circa 1880, neat sized pair of Victorian burr walnut open bookcases, with adaptations. With rectangular shaped tops and fore-edges veneered in burr walnut, they have a simple frieze above an interior painted in duck egg green. The bookcase has two adjustable shelves, also painted with burr and with walnut veneered facings. Two flat pilasters run from top to bottom with an ogee moulding beneath and the entire piece stands on an enclosed plinth.
