Circa 1880, large sized Victorian chandelier. At the top is a circular brass foliate canopy with strands of faceted glass tapering from top to bottom forming a tent. Inside this there are light fittings for 3 bulbs and a central brass stem, with a further 3 lamp holders at the base. There is a large central bezel with similar casting to the top. From this protrude several Rococo arms with candle holders at the end, all held in place by stylish foliate casting. Beneath the candle holders are faceted glass drops which continue around the centre bezel forming 4 layers like a waterfall, tapering as they get towards the bottom of the chandelier. The chandelier has a wonderful presence and is very stylish. Recently re-wired.
