Circa 1890, George I style walnut bergere chair. The high back has a central carved shell over a shaped splat and bergere panels. The drop in seat has been newly recovered in a gold silk velour. Beneath this is a deep apron with concave carved shell, all standing on cabriole legs at the front. With carved foliate quarter brackets and shell knees, finishing on realistic ball and claw feet and simple cabriole back legs, united by stretchers.
