Circa 1890, exhibition quality Chippendale style mahogany pedestal desk made by T.Justice Cabinet Makers Dundee (silvered label in top right hand drawer). The inverted solid top has a stylish moulded edge, and beneath this is a configuration of one long drawer and two short drawers, and two pedestals with three graduating drawers with cast brass escutcheons and Rococo swan neck handles. The drawer fronts are solid mahogany and they are oak lined inside. The corners are chamfered with carved flower heads. Beneath the bottom drawer is a stylish moulding and the desk stands on very stylish ogee bracket feet on the front, sides and back. Wonderful colour and patination, very stylish and sturdy.
