Circa 1870, very unusual mid Victorian Grandmother clock. The arched top has three original brass finials, and beneath this there are fluted Corinthian columns with brass capitals and bases. The dial is brass with Roman and Arabic numerals and an engraved face. The top has a seascape and a rocking ship which works as the pendulum beats. The clock has an eight day movement and is driven by two weights and a pendulum the same as a full sized Grandfather clock. Beneath the hood is a full length door and ribbed canted corners. The base has an ogee moulding over a raised panel with canted corners, and again fluted canted corners either side. Standing on a moulded plinth with four bracket feet. Unusual to get an eight day movement clock of this age and size.
