Circa 1870, set of 12 mahogany and upholstered Victorian dining chairs. The chairs have a curved top rail with a cartouche padded back and shaped uprights. At the base of the upholstered back is a carved leaf and the patterns vary from chair to chair. Each of the chairs has a large stuff-over seat (recently re-upholstered) and lead on to square, tapering back legs. There is a shaped, dipped apron to the front of the chairs, and cabriole front legs with a carved cartouche on the knee and a raised toe beneath.
