Product Description

Circa 1870, impressive exhibition quality Scottish mahogany coin cabinet, made in three sections. The pagoda shaped top section with two flame mahogany doors framed by a very stylish ebonised moulding with fine foliate, thistle and ribbon carvings. The doors enclose 18 numbered slides with various shaped apertures for a coin or medallion collection, each with an ivory handle. The middle section encloses an arrangement of 64 pull-out slides again of various sizes with square lined apertures for coins and collections. The base is fitted with pull-out slides to the top, two short drawers, one fitted with a hinged compartment, the other with three compartments, and three long drawers below, all with military style flush brass handles and ash liners. All standing on a plinth base.
