Circa 1870, large Victorian oak kneehole desk. With an inverted breakfront top and a tan coloured leather writing insert and deeply carved fore edges. It sits above a long central drawer and banks of four graduated drawers on each side, all with moulded edges and unusual carved turned knobs. The drawers all have mahogany liners and locks by Hobbs & Co., which are evidence of high quality. The desk has canted corners with deep foliate carvings and sits on a carved, enclosed base.
