Circa 1850, Victorian oak sarcophagus shaped work or jewellery box. The box has a lift out tray that has 3 lidded compartments. The lids are amboyna veneered and boxwood inlaid. They have leather hoop handles. The underside of the lid is covered in blue velvet and when opened comes forward to reveal a stationery folder. The compartment under the tray is lined with blue paper. The box is on short bracket feet and has a scroll decoration in between the feet.
