Circa 1850-60, mahogany longcase clock made in Dalkeith. Similar to Edinburgh longcase clocks of the time, but with a bow-fronted door; it has an arched, glazed door. The clock is painted with 4 seasons, and a family scene is to the top. The dial features a calendar and it has hand-cut, gilded hands. The makers name is indistinctive, and the pilasters continue down beside a bow door in flame mahogany. The base has a fielded panel in flame mahogany, on bracket feet. It will be serviced and working.
