Circa 1890, unusual Japanese triptych brass and painted wall or dressing table mirror. The mirror opens to show 3 plates of glass. The 2 outer ones are hinged and held in brass frames, and beneath these there are 2 small retractable legs. The outsides are painted with figures, mythical birds and a garden. The main frame is in the form of faux bamboo with a chain at the top. Beneath the bottom of the frame there are 2 further pieces of faux bamboo to form the legs, so the mirror can be used on a dressing table. Stylish and good quality mirror.
