Circa 1860, Dutch walnut marquetry inlaid bureau. The flap has a large marquetry urn with flowers spilling out of it at both sides, butterflies and birds. There is a very stylish cast brass gilded escutcheon with the aperture for the key and swags and tails on the outside of it. Inside there are several marquetry panels and a combination of doors and drawers with brass knobs, and pigeon holes. Beneath the flap there is a single full length drawer with the same escutcheon as the top and cast brass handles with foliate casting on them. Beneath this there is a shaped apron with floral marquetry, and from this come 4 elegant, long cabriole legs with marquetry on the fore edge, front and sides and finishing with a ball and claw foot.
