Product Description

Circa 1840. Set of 8 early Victorian mahogany dining chairs. The curved and shaped top with beading on the inside are supported on shaped uprights, with stuffover seats in green leather, held in place by brass studs, the chairs have a simple shaped seat rail to the front and sides. Back legs are square and slightly out swept, front legs are turned and tapering with a foliate carving on the top in the form of a tulip, continuing down to a bulbous section and finishing on a simple toe. The chairs have excellent colour and patination and are clean and sturdy.
