Circa 1850. A quality set of 10 early Victorian mahogany Scottish dining chairs. Curved and shaped top rail in well figured mahogany, supported by two shaped uprights. The larger armchairs have two curved arms supported on two barley sugar uprights. The chairs retain the original pleated and buttoned upholstery (shabby chic condition), held in place by leather gimp and spaced studs. The chairs have a simple seat rail which is curved at the front. Back legs are square and slightly out swept, front legs are turned, ring turned and tapering down finishing on a raised toe.
