Circa 1835, good quality William IV mahogany wall clock by W Frost Exeter. The clock has an octagonal shaped head with scratch carving, a glazed door with a cast brass bezel and Roman numerals. At the bottom of the hood is scroll and foliate carving. Beneath this is a narrow long case with wonderful flame mahogany veneers. The door is crossbanded and also has flame mahogany veneers in the centre. Inside, the clock has a standard pendulum and double weight for striking and for the time piece. Beneath the door is further crossbanding and the base is curved. The clock has been service and overhauled, and runs for eight days. Good colour and excellent patination.
