Description

Circa 1830, William IV pole screen with stylish Chinoiserie decoration. The top section features Chinese characters in cloisonné decorated on papier-mâché. At the back are stylish gilded flowers. This is held in place by a turned and tapering column with ring turnings and original gilding, which can be adjusted. All standing on three stylish cabriole legs, again with decorations and gilding, finishing on hoof feet on small cast brass castors. The screen and stand have not been cleaned to retain the original colour and patination.
