Circa 1830, exhibition quality mahogany bedside locker by Gillows of Lancaster. The square top in figured mahogany with a thumb moulded fore-edge and three quarter gallery with inset handles sits above a figured mahogany door flanked by two panels. It is all supported on classical Gillows tapering reeded legs with ring turnings, and is in complete original condition throughout. Gillows of Lancaster and London were one of the most prestigious antique furniture makers in Great Britain and can now be see in many stately homes nationwide.
