Circa 1820, unusual pair of solid mahogany hall chairs. With shaped backs that are profusely carved with a mixture of classic designs, foliate carvings, s-scrolls and centred by a simple solid oval panel. The seat has a rounded corner, above an unusual shaped apron to the front and sides, leading on to square, tapering and outswept back legs. The front legs are turned, ring turned, tapering down to a carved tulip and finishing on a raised, turned toe.
