Circa 1815, unusual Regency mahogany inlaid sofa table. The top has multiple string inlay and cross banding in mahogany. The flaps are rounded and unusual as the table has the drawers on its gable ends. There is a dummy drawer on one side and a full length drawer on the opposite side, with string inlay and stylish cast brass knob handles. The flaps are hinged and have double locking arms underneath to hold them when they are open. The trestle ends are inlaid with a diamond at the top and a Gothic arch. These are united by a cross stretcher which is inlaid and has a raised arch in the centre. All standing on four elegant sabre legs with string inlay on the facing and on the sides, finishing on stylised cast brass hairy feet with solid brass casters. The table is very elegant and mellow in colour.
