Product Description

Circa 1820, late George III, rosewood sarcophagus shaped tea caddy. It has well figured rosewood veneers and an elegant top which is hinged and opens to reveal a rosewood lined lid, two mixing containers with their hinged lids and the original mixing bowl in the centre, held in an open aperture. At the front is a mother of pearl, circular and engraved escutcheon and at the sides is two turned knobs for lifting the tea caddy. The entire caddy stands on 4 squat bun feet which have been scumbled to look like rosewood.
