Circa 1810, late George III rosewood open bookcase/folio cabinet. The rosewood rectangular top has a neat fore edge and cast brass letter V in the centre indicating this was part of a set. Below the top is a small recess and moulding. On the fore edge there are two stylish flat inverted pilasters. There are two adjustable shelves with slatted supports, and the bottom of the inside of the bookcase is also veneered in rosewood. The gables are panelled with a stylish beaded framing all round and below the base there is a very stylish brass moulding. The bookcase stands on an enclosed plinth. Excellent colour and condition. A rare piece of furniture of this period.
