Circa 1740, unusual George II mahogany table or low stand. Rectangular shaped, with moulded edge and inset solid top, cross-banded fore-edge. It has a cushion shaped apron with a double beading on the edge, c-scrolls and a carved shells to the front and back. The shell design is repeated to the top of the 4 carved cabriole legs with carved bell drops beneath and finishing on an acanthus leaf carved foot, c-scrolls each side and squat brass castors beneath.
