Circa 1720, George I walnut handchair. With arched, scrolling top rail which continues down to shaped uprights and a central splat, the stuffover seat has embossed leather (added later). There is a simple apron with a dip to the front, and the back legs are slightly outswept with cabriole front legs, carved knees and pad feet. The stretcher to the back has turned sections, and the front and side stretchers are shaped.
