Description
Circa 1880. A quality pair of Qing Dynasty Huanghuali marble and mother of pearl chairs. The shaped carved and pierced top rail inlaid with mother of pearl decoration above a conforming and pierced back flanking the circular panel inserted with marble, above a rectangular seat, also inserted with a grained marble, with a seat rail with further carved and insert decoration. Square tapering legs joined by stretchers and terminating on typical Chinese stylized scroll feet. The chairs have excellent colour and patination.
