Description
Circa 1900, neat-sized George II style figured walnut kneehole writing desk. The rectangular top with inset corners in figured walnut with herringbone inlay, cross banding and moulded edges over a full-length frieze drawer with engraved brass handles and escutcheon and quarter-cut oak back-to-front drawer liners. With a conceded apron drawer above a recessed door opening to a shelved cupboard, flanked by banks of 3 short drawers with similar brass fittings. All supported on a moulded base with shaped bracket feet.
