Description
Circa 1870. A mid Victorian teak two-part military chest of drawers. The top section with cast brass quarter blocks and brass strapping between the drawers, the configuration of the top section is one long narrow drawer above two short drawers left and right and a large secretaire drawer in the middle. All of the drawers have flush brass military handles, and brass strapping intersecting each of the drawers. The well-fitting secretaire drawer opens to reveal a leather writing surface, pigeon holes with stylish arches and various drawers. The bottom section has two full length drawers, with flush brass military handles and brass strapping to the side. The whole piece rests on four squat bun feet.
