Circa 1815. A Regency mahogany five drawer dressing table or side table in the manner of ’Gillows’ of Lancaster’. The rectangular top with ¾ raised gallery, elegant ribbed fore edge, which continues around the sides. With a configuration of one long drawer flanked by a pair of shorter drawers, each of the drawers has turned knob handles, with a pair of flat pilasters at each side. The table rests on four classic Gillows’ legs turned, ring turned, fluted and tapering with a bulbous section towards the base, all finishing on a brass cup and original brass castors. The table has excellent colour and patination and is clean and sturdy.
