Description
Circa 1920, very stylish George II style walnut block front chest of drawers. The matching veneered top is crossbanded and herringboned, and has a nice simple caddy moulded edge. Below this is configuration of four graduating drawers, each with a large cast brass escutcheon depicting mythical figures and brass drop handles with back plates in the form of a sun burst. Each of the drawers is cockbeaded and has matching burr walnut veneers. The fore edge of the chest is canted and reeded. Beneath the bottom drawer is a moulded edge, and the whole piece stands on stylish raised bracket feet. Great colour and good condition.
