Description

Circa 1820. A good George IV mahogany breakfront 4 door wardrobe. Classic cornice with caring on the top section, Greek key pattern beneath with a cavetto section beaded on the base. Two full length doors with a fine beading in the panels, with foliate carved beading in the center and similar panels in the bottom, these sections open to reveal uninterrupted hanging areas. The center a pair of shorter doors with similar beadings and panels, open to reveal the original trays, beneath this there is a bank of two over two drawers with similar beading which occurs throughout the robe. The drawers have fine cast circular handles and pierced raised back plates, beneath the bottom drawer there is further carved moulding which continues around the base, all standing on an enclosed mahogany plinth.
