Description
Circa 1790. A quality late George III mahogany satinwood fold over tea table. The D shaped top with wonderful colour and patination, various string inlays and kingwood banding, the top is hinged and opens to reveal a satinwood interior with ebony inlay and an ebony fore edge. Frieze with a small raised block with diamond pattern and further string inlay. The back legs are hinged and swing out to support the top when open, the table stands on four square tapering legs with ebonized inlay. The top of the legs with a classic gothic arch which tapers down and forms small diamond patterns at the base. All resting on brass cups with brass castors beneath.
