Description
Circa 1730, an early George II Walnut and elm chair with excellent provenance, the large padded back, with stuff over seat, with the fabric hand positioned by closed brass studded nails, the elm back legs are turned and tapered and slightly out swept with a small quarter block to one side, the elegant walnut cabriole legs on the front with quarter blocks finishing on simple but elegant pad foot, to the underside is a label which states, ‘National Trust for Scotland the 8th Earl of Buckingham, Georgian side chair number 154.3c, imprinted turns loan cuz, which refers to Culzean Castle’
