Description
Circa 1790, unusual continental bureau or tabernacle writing cabinet. Made in satin birch, walnut and other burr woods, with a serpentine shaped, inlaid top with drawers, which is above a patterned flap, flanked by shaped sections. The flap opens to marbled lined interior with various drawers and cupboards. The commode base has serpentine front, 3 full length patterned drawers with cast brass escutcheons, and cast brass swan neck handles. With a moulded apron, standing on squat bun feet.
