Description
Circa 1860, exhibition quality Victorian games table. The rectangular top in quartered, finest burr walnut with a central satinwood and coromandel inlaid chess board. The table top swivels and opens to an interior in figured and burr walnut and unusual-shaped original brass hinges, all above a shaped frieze. Supported on foliate carved vasiform legs, interconnected by matching turned stretchers. Standing on twin cabriole legs on each side with open foliate carvings and hidden brass castors.
