Description
Circa 1820, Dutch marquetry, walnut hand chair. With shaped top, supported on 2 shaped uprights with large decorated splat. With inlaid facing to all areas of the frame in classic Dutch marquetry designs, including swags, tails and flowers. A further inlaid heraldic coat of arms is beneath a coronet on the cresting rail. The shaped, drop-in seat pad is over a shaped seat rail, all on slightly outswept back legs and cabriole front legs with quarter blocks and simple feet. Recently traditionally re-upholstered.
