Description
Circa 1800. A fine gilded and painted overmantel mirror (ex. Rossi Priory, Perthshire). The elegant moulded top, with carving in the frieze including ribbing and beading. The large painted panel in the top with classic Adam style designs of swags tails and carved rondels, all gilded on a grey background. The mirror is flanked by a pair of fluted pilasters with carved gilded foliate leaves forming the capitals, intersected on each side with a fine beading. Resting on an ebonized plinth.
