Circa 1930s, set of 4 carved oak chairs. With simple upright, well carved centre splat in solid oak with foliate motifs and a slight curve in the centre. The carved and curving cross over stretcher is to the bottom, with a drop in seat, slightly dipped bow front section and solid rails to sides and back. With square, out swept back legs, and turned, bulbous front legs with C scroll carved to the top. They end on a large square toe with a faceted section at the front. There are 8 stretchers beneath connecting the front legs to the back legs and a cross stretcher uniting the legs and providing stability.
