Circa 1880, rosewood framed, button back Victorian easy chair. This generous sized chair has neat turned feet to the front with brass castors stamped ‘Copes and Collinson Patent’ and so this chair is possibly made by Gillows. It has neat outswept supports to the rear. The Very upholstery, springing and horsehair are all in very good order, making for a comfortable seat, and it has now been recovered in a tartan material. There are easy chairs in the Royal collection which feature the Copes and Collinson patented castors.
