Circa 1880, portable writing desk. The raised top has shaped moulded edge, and is hinged opening to show 2 ink wells, a pen slide, a lift off lid and 2 small compartments. The front section opens to reveal a leathered writing slope and a velvet lined base with 3 drawers. They have carved circular ribbed knob handles, likely from bone. The exterior is in flame mahogany, and it has a half round moulding with 4 elegant squat bun feet.
